At Woodsetts Primary School, we believe that attending school in person is the best way for children to learn and thrive. Remote education is not a substitute for regular school attendance, but in certain limited circumstances, we may provide remote learning to ensure that pupils can continue their education.

Remote learning may be used:

When it is not safe or possible to open school, for example, due to extreme weather or other emergencies.

When government or local authority guidance advises against in-person attendance.

For individual pupils who are temporarily unable to attend school but are well enough to learn, such as:

During recovery from injury or medical procedures

If they have an infectious illness and must remain at home

When attendance is affected by special educational needs, disabilities, or mental health needs (following agreement with parents and, where appropriate, external professionals)

To support remote learning, we will use a range of online systems and platforms, including Google Classroom, Google Drive, MyMaths, TT Rockstars, and other digital tools to ensure pupils can access high-quality resources and teacher guidance.

Remote learning will only be put in place through mutual agreement between the school, parents/carers, and, where relevant, health or local authority professionals. It will be regularly reviewed, with the aim of supporting pupils to return to in-school learning as soon as possible.

At Woodsetts Primary School, we are proud to be an inclusive school where every child is valued, respected, and supported to achieve their very best. Our approach to equality is not just about compliance with the law – it is at the heart of our ethos and curriculum.
