Social Media
At Woodsetts Primary School, we are proud to celebrate our pupils’ achievements and share the exciting learning taking place across our school community. We use a range of social media platforms to keep parents, carers, and the wider community informed and engaged with school life in a safe and responsible way.
Our Social Media Platforms
We use the following platforms as part of our joined-up communication strategy:
-
Twitter (X): Each class from Year 1 to Year 6 has its own account, where teachers share learning highlights, achievements, and class updates.
-
Class Dojo (EYFS): Our Nursery and Reception classes use Class Dojo to share learning moments with parents in a secure, closed environment.
-
Whole School Twitter (X): A central account to share key announcements, school-wide celebrations, and community events.
-
Facebook: Our Facebook page provides another way to connect with parents, carers, and the wider community with updates and celebrations.
-
Instagram: We use Instagram to showcase school events, achievements, and key highlights of school life.
This approach ensures that all parents can easily keep up to date with what is happening at Woodsetts and see their children’s achievements celebrated.

Parental Consent
To ensure the safety and privacy of our pupils, we only share images or videos of children whose parents have provided explicit consent. Consent is managed via Arbor, our secure school information system.
Parents and carers can:
-
Log into their Arbor account.
-
Review and update the permissions for their child to appear on our social media platforms.
-
Change their preferences at any time if they wish to withdraw consent.
If consent is not provided, your child will not be included in any images or videos posted online.
Families of children in EYFS will be given a Class DoJo consent form to complete as part of your induction. If you have any questions about this, please speak to our EYFS Leader, Mrs Toseland.
Online Safety and Compliance
We are committed to following national guidance and best practice for the safe and responsible use of social media, including:
-
Adhering to Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE 2025) and DfE online safety guidance.
-
Ensuring that no personal information about pupils (such as full names or contact details) is ever shared.
-
Moderating and monitoring our accounts to ensure respectful, positive interaction.
-
Training staff on safe social media use and safeguarding protocols.
-
Using platforms as a tool to celebrate learning, never to discuss confidential or sensitive information.
Our aim is to provide a safe, positive online presence that reflects the vibrant life of our school and strengthens the home-school partnership.
Working Together
Social media is one part of our wider communication strategy. Alongside newsletters, Arbor messages, and face-to-face contact, our platforms help us keep parents connected and involved in their children’s education.
If you have any questions about our social media use or your child’s permissions, please contact the school office.
