Personal Development
At Woodsetts Primary School, we believe that education is about more than academic success. It is about helping every child grow into a confident, kind, and capable young person who understands themselves, values others, and can make a positive difference in the world. Our Personal Development offer is woven through everything we do: in our curriculum, our relationships, our enrichment experiences, and our daily routines.
We aim to ensure that all children feel known, valued, and supported. Through our Woodsetts Learner Code, our PSHE curriculum, pupil leadership opportunities, broad enrichment activities, and strong pastoral care, we provide our children with the knowledge, skills, and character to thrive both now and in their future lives.
We want every child to:
-
Develop a strong sense of identity, belonging, and emotional wellbeing.
-
Build positive relationships and communicate respectfully with others.
-
Understand how to stay safe, healthy, and resilient.
-
Experience leadership, responsibility, and active participation in their school and wider community.
-
Appreciate diversity, equality, and the many ways people live, work, and believe.
Our Personal Development approach is intentional, structured, and rooted in our school’s values. It is not an “extra”; it is part of who we are.
The document below outlines our Personal Development offer in full, including how we support character education, wellbeing, safeguarding, citizenship, preparation for life in modern Britain, and the experiences that help our children grow into responsible and thoughtful young people.
