Covid-19 Updates for January 2021
First of all, we hope all of our children and families have had a safe and happy Christmas holiday and new year. As we are sure you are aware from the media, this is an ever changing situation and we will do our best to keep everyone updated should anything change. We share your concerns about the new variant of Covid-19 and will do all we can to make school as safe as possible for everyone. Please check this page for updates and, for any significant news, we will send an email out.
Monday 4th January 2020 update - Following the announcement at 8pm tonight by the Prime Minister, Woodsetts Primary will only be open for critical workers and vulnerable children from Tuesday 5th January 2020. A letter was sent out today with details of how to register for a place and an email with the same information has been sent tonight. Please can we urge families only to register for a place if absolutely necessary - we have been advised to try and keep numbers as low as possible to help reduce the virus risk and transmission within our community.
If your email address has changed and you have not received the update, please can you email our enquiries email account with your name, child's name and updated email details so that we can ensure you receive all important information.
We share your frustration around the late announcement from Government on this and know that it will cause challenges around last minute childcare. We will be implementing our remote learning strategy to support. Learning can be accessed via the secure online Google Folder - this is the same link used during the last lockdown and has been shared via previous letters and the email/letter sent today. If you need help accessing this, please contact us and we will do our best to support.
Any critical worker or vulnerable children attending should continue to follow the agreed times for drop-off and collection. We would also ask that families continue to support everyone's safety by wearing a mask if you are able to and maintain social distancing.
As always, thank you for your support during these challenging times.

A warm welcome to Woodsetts!
I am delighted to welcome you to our school and to our new website. There is something very special about Woodsetts Primary and I feel very privileged to have been appointed as headteacher in January 2020. We are incredibly proud of our amazing children, supportive parents and inspirational staff, where we all work together to make Woodsetts a happy and fun place to learn.
Our vision is for everyone to CARE. We foster an environment where children show respect and kindness to one another and the world around them. We also want all children and adults to have a thirst for learning within a high quality, caring, inclusive school which prepares us all with the knowledge and skills for the ever changing world.
I hope that this website will give you as much information as possible about our school, the staff and the many activities that our children enjoy through our curriculum and our extra-curricular activities. It will grow over time as we add more information, but can never replace the first-hand experience of coming to visit us. If you have suggestions to make about its content, please do contact us at school as we are always open to new ideas. Should you require any of the documents contained on the website as a printed copy, please speak to a member of our Office Team.
I look forward to working with everyone on the exciting journey ahead for our school.
M Revill - Headteacher
