British Values
At Woodsetts Primary School, we firmly believe that our core vision—WE CARE—naturally intertwines with the fundamental British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect, and tolerance of different faiths, cultures, and beliefs. These principles aren’t just words; they inform everything we do - from how we teach to how we grow together as a school community.
Embedded Throughout the Curriculum
We ensure British Values are ‘lived’ and learned across the school—not just in special lessons but woven into everyday learning:
- PSHE & RE Lessons: These subjects deliver structured content that builds moral awareness, critical thinking, respectful behaviour, and community understanding.
- Novel Studies & Across Subjects: Themes like justice, identity, and community from fiction, history, science, and geography help deepen pupils’ understanding of values in context.
- Assemblies, Class Briefings & Theme Weeks: We regularly reinforce key values through assemblies, weekly reminders, and whole-school events—allowing pupils to absorb and apply them in real life.
- Visual Reminders: Posters, displays, and class messages highlight the British Values and the connections to our WE CARE ethos throughout the school environment.
