Family Learning - Cookery club
The arts and craft club was such a success and after speaking to the families who attended cookery was a must. The children along with their grown ups each week worked together to cook a meal for their family for tea! They had to read the recipe and instructions together, prepare and cook the food. The club was fantastic the children loved making their own food which a lot of the families enjoyed that night. It gave children the chance to be more independent ad the chance to spend quality time with their grown up. Lots of the adults said they was going to start allowing the children to help more at home and was surprised how much they actually could be involved. It was a great opportunity to talk to other parent/carers of the school and make new friends too.

Some Foundation 1 and 2 children and their families have just finished a fun filled packed arts and crafts group. Each week the children with help from their families made a range of different crafts including mother's day cards and gifts, their Easter bonnets for the upcoming parade and other crafts! I think the grown ups enjoyed it just as much as the children! This was a great opportunity for families to spend time with their children making the crafts together, the grown ups loved supporting the children in this out of school activity and was a perfect chance for parents/carers to meet other adults and make new friendships.

Volunteering in school
We are always looking for parents/carers to come and help volunteer in school. This may be helping with making classroom resources, mounting and laminating, helping in the school garden, listening to children read or if you have a talent that you think could have an impact on a child's learning. Please speak to a member of the Office.
